having my present retirement visa extended by my visa agent

a few moments ago my trusty trainer/,visa agent, mobiled E/S, to say that the ZOO STAKES, has been brought forward by two days

tomorrow weds 9/3 is race day, at the immgr dept

she will mobile E/S around 9.am (tomorrow) for time to be at her offices, then taken by her, to the promanada immgr dept to renew my retirement visa

stay tuned, for further developments tomorrow

and its a smoggy good afternoon to all

Since I work late there is no way that I will ever be sitting at Promenada at 4.30am. Then there is the fact that I absolutely hate being kept waiting. For that reason I will reluctantly go the way of using an agent. In recent years I was always fortunate enough to get an online appointment but since they put an end to that there's not much choice really.

My view is that the 4.30am nonsense is the equivalent of the Germans leaving their towels on the sunbed at the hotel. I'm sure the towels malarkey originally started by people doing it before breakfast, then when everyone was doing the same, someone decided to do it at 7am, which became 6am, which became doing it at midnight. So now, at immigration, it is 4.30am, or so I hear. In a few weeks time it will 4am, then 3.30am. All because people want to be there first.

So, since I'm new to the game, which agents are recommended, and can anyone tell me how long before my expiry date do I need to contact them?

Since you work you will, of course, have no need for a retirement visa and will be spared the painful process that us poor, old retirees must face each year.

incidentally , a dicky bird whispered in my ear, that my v/agents staff arr at 4.30AM at the prom to receive my queue card number 16

to get the pole position a 2.am start is needed,thereabouts mind you

shall be able to pick my passport up, anytime from tomorrow at my v/agents office located in nimmenhedin

total visa agents cost 5.100 baht which importantly includes 3 by 90 days reports ,where u only have to drop your passport in at her office and pick it up the following day

so only one trip to the ZOO is needed each year,and this time around for E/S a mere 17 MINS was actually spent at their prom offices

I used the same agent last month. I was told she would be there and meet me as she had a picture of me, but she was not to be found until I called the office asking "Where is she?" Then they called her and she came out of her hiding place with some BS excuse. My appointment was supposedly at 1 but there were three ahead of me. At 1:25 my number came up and she sat with me for 10 min speaking to the Immigration Officer while he went over the paperwork. They took my pic and I was out. I picked up my passport with visa and Re-entry permit the next day. So off to a bad start, but they came through with the goods. Next time I will try the place out there that is even cheaper, GT4(?). BTW, Immigration at Promenada was worse than the one by the airport. Not enough chairs, and one poor fellow ended up LYING on the floor. The A/C did work, though.

I think they are the most expensive one but they can and will do any kind of Visa. They also guarantee there work if they make a mistake on a complicated one they will fix it at their expense. I would use them if I wasn't so cheap and G4T wasn't so easy to use. Also mine is just a simple 365 day extension.

As you say you have crossed all the hurdles and completed the course and even left the paddock but you have yet to collect the 'cup' with the prize money in it.

Please let us know when you actually have the passport and correct stamp etc. and say you have retired for a year until your next gallop.

I had an agent do mine because I am getting on in years.

I understand that is hard for you to understand so get your trainer to explain it to you.

MESmith does it the same way your agent does it only it is free for him.

Have your trainer explain that to you also.

firstly to clarify my last post on re-entry permits, E/S one, was a single entry, total 2000 baht (immgr 1000 baht ,visa agent 1000 baht)

from memory and certainly can be corrected, the multi re-entry permit immgr fee is 3800 baht

yes there are cheaper ways of securing your re-entry with out engaging a visa agent, such as D.I.Y or a airport departure job

seeing E/S has a first class super duper agent available ,i chose her route,as its small money involved, and not that important to me, you cannot take it with you , can you????

as for the airport departure job, seeing that E/S has a business class ticket to sydney, i wanted everything done and dusted,and not to have a problem arise, at the airport, by taking this route

my visa agent does all 90 day reports for you, , just drop your p/.port in, at her nimmhedin office,and picked it up the following day, they will email you the dates to do this, ,a reminder , so to speak

to recap my visa agents fees and services provided by her, it is ,as follows

retirement visa extension including all 90 days reports 5100 baht plus 1900 baht immgr fee , total 7000 baht

single re-entry permit 1000 baht plus 1000 baht immgr fee, total 2000 baht

grand total 9000 baht (visa agent 6100 baht, immgr dept 2900 baht)

total time spent at the prom immgr dept 17 minutes that says it all for E/S,, but choose which ever way that suits you , no skin off my nose
