If somebody has a Non-Imm B "S" (Single Entry) & a work permit, do they need to get a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand or will the Work Permit cover them for re-entering?

If the WP doesn't cover re-entry, what happens to it when they come back to Thailand?

Thanks

WP has nothing to do with immigration.

If you just have a single entry visa, that is used when you enter, if you wish to exit and return on the same visa you will need a re-entry permit.

You don't gain any days, the re-entry permit protects your existing permission to stay (whether it is the original 90 days from your visa, or an extension attached to your work permit) so you will be stamped in to the same date as you are now.

If you leave without a re-entry permit then when you return you will be stamped for whatever period your nationality permits for visa exempt entry (if any).

Thanks, it's actually for a mate as he believes he's covered to come & go as he pleases now he has his WP, but I believe immigration & Manpower are 2 seperate departments/concerns so his company should have got him a Non-Imm "M" and as they didn't, he should get a multi re-entry permit (3,800THB) when he leaves.

So to confirm, he'll get 30 days (as a Brit) but still be ok to work under the cover of his WP during that time? Wouldn't immigration give him a hard time for effectively working whilst being on a visa exempt stamp?

Cheers

If he is currently on a 90 day entry from the non-b visa he can get a single re-entry permit that will keep the remainder of the 90 days valid when he enters country.

Has he done an extension of stay at immigration already of the 90 day entry already and is thinking that is part of the work permit that he has. If he has done the extension already he could get a multiple re-entry permit that would be valid until his extension ends.
