doctormann
Hi Just a heads-up for those that don't know already. Google has stopped supporting the Chrome browser on all 32-bit Linux distributions so anyone still using 32-bit Chrome will need to upgrade to 64-bit or, alternatively, use a different browser. Anyone on a 32-bit OS will need to use a different browser - Open Source Chromium will still be OK. If you are still using 32-bit Chrome then you can continue to do so but will no longer get updates. You may also find that your Software Updater will throw an error as it goes looking for i386 files that no longer exist. There is a fix for this for Ubuntu/Mint systems that I found here http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppa/google_chrome. The relevant bit is the input from Pascal Bergmann : Pascal Bergmann Naryfa • 18 hours ago on a 64bit sys, change contents in your /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome.list to:deb [arch=amd64] http://dl.google.com/linux/chr... stable main This certainly works on Mint 17.3. I only found out about this problem when my Software Updater failed to update. I run a 64-bit OS and 64-bit Chrome but, for some reason, the updater was looking for i386 files in the Chrome Release File and they were not there. All OK now that I've applied the fix.
