March 4, 201610 yr Hello, I lost my wallet today, lost either in the big Tesco Lotus carpark (in and around the market), or whilst driving from Tesco to the night bazaar (I had it at the market and didn't have it at the night bazaar). It has my UK driving licence and other documents with the name Paul Dunn and a large amount of cash in THB and GBP and also some travellers cheques in GBP. 5000 baht for anybody returning it to me. Already made a police report. What if it is handed into a different police station, I'd hope they'd have a computerised system but the officer didn't input anything into a computer whilst I was there, I just got a handwritten piece of paper? Any advice on anything else I can do to heighten my chances of being reunited with my wallet? Thanks
March 4, 201610 yr I am so sorry for your loss of wallet. That must be a nightmare. I swear to God that if I found it I would return everything to you without wanting a reward. To make clearer some facts, I take it you mean the Tesco Lotus on the Superhighway? And was you traveling by car or motorbike? If on a motorbike then the wallet could have dropped anywhere between Tesco and the night Bazaar. Hate to say this but if the police only gave you a hand written piece of paper then it doesn`t seem they made an official report and guess the details are not entered into any online database. This means if by chance your wallet is handed in at that particular police there won`t be any record of it. If you had some ID with an address in your wallet, your only hope is that some good Samaritan will return or post it to you. Wishing you luck with with one, but the odds of being reunited with your wallet are not looking good.
March 5, 201610 yr Author Yes that's the Tesco, and on a motorbike. I think it's more likely I left it somewhere at the market, maybe 75% likely there and 25% likely on the road somewhere. Going to tourist police today to see if I can get a computerised report..
March 5, 201610 yr Put it on the Chiang Mai Facebook page also .I am going to put it up myself now .Hope you get it back . Edited March 5, 201610 yr by anto
March 5, 201610 yr Good luck. Hate to say it, but you have limited chance of getting it back. If I were you, I'd start cancelling credit/debit cards.
March 5, 201610 yr 'a large amount of cash in THB and GBP and also some travellers cheques in GBP.' unfortunately the above is an indication of someone not handing it in. also, if they found it on the road who can they trust to hand it in to .... ? sorry for your loss .....
