Faz, I wasn't going to post anymore on this thread but I just realised that you are talking about something completely different to the rest of us. We are all talking about getting a Thai name added to somebody else's blue book database, but you are now talking about your friend getting issued with an actual new book for himself. ???????

Yup thanks khaoniaw, I'm pretty sure that's the case. I remember when she wanted to renew her I'd or something she had some problems with her tabien baan. She was on some friends or relatives I can't remember who exactly. Hmmm. Not sure what to do. I don't want to have to hang around for weeks while she tracks down the blue book. How long does it take for a Thai to get entered into someone's tabien baan? Is it a long or difficult process? I really want to get this divorce done asap and I do genuinely think my wife does too (I've agreed to give her some cash when it is done), so really need some good advice here guys...

If you are not living in Thailand why the rush ? Or o you wish to marry again ? Might sound rude , if not let it take its course, is property involved, kids, , you are some what vague on these points, so how you expect sound advice is a bit of a mystery.

Correction to one thing I read in this thread:

It IS possible for a Thai to not be on any tabien baan. The mother of my daughter pawned the family car once and I got angry and went down to amphur and kicked her out of my tabien baan. They didn't really want to do it but I am chao baan and they do not have a choice. Amphur was fine with that after I had talked to the supervisor

I got a paper from the Amphur that I passed on to her. It showed that she was kicked out of my tabien baan, that she had 30 days to get in somewhere else of she will in fact not be registered on any tabien baan

Veeery long thread to get to know a process, it takes 5 minutes at the local amphur to get correct information from the supervisor there :)

Solved now and you do not need tabien baan, yes.
