March 9, 201610 yr Got wind last night that something was happening to the sun in the morning. So it was up and out of the house at 6.00am , only to find the sky completely cloudy and it didn't look like much was happening anyway. So, back to the house to finish the S, S and S before setting off to work at 7.30 , but I also decided to check on internet what exactly was happening. A partial eclipse peaking at 07.30am. I set off for work and took the camera with me anyway and after a lot of playing around with the camera I just couldn't get the shot I wanted, shutter speed max , aperture absolute minimum and exposure compensation at -5.00. Still not getting it how I wanted I decided to go off to work, started the car and wound up the window, EUREKA , Tinted windows, I gave it a shot and YES the last two pics were the best I could come up with.. All in all it ended up fairly satisfactory. Edited March 9, 201610 yr by daiwill60
March 9, 201610 yr Not Rayong, but here's the photos the wife's friend took (proper camera): here's the photo i took:
March 9, 201610 yr You should call the last one as 'Milky way' I had the same problems as OP did. There was few minutes after the sunrise, before the Sun became too bright for my camera to cope with. The nice part was that the eclipse had already started before the sunrise. Here are some photos from Phuket. Edited March 9, 201610 yr by Guest

March 9, 201610 yr I tried to reply to another post re eclipse but can't seem to find it. Here are a few shots I took In Khon Kaen this morning. A little cloudy, but not too bad. PS: like your lump on the moon. Who needs the "man in the moon", eh?

Why the need for the sarcasm? Funny, I have also seen the titty picture many times today posted in many places.

Here are some photos from Phuket. Awesome Pics, especially the highly zoomed in one. Was yours a really proper camera too, like Bredbury Blue's friend of his missus??? Oh, how I wish I had a proper camera like his missus' friend, coz all I have is a Nikon D 3100 with a 200 mm lens, which usually serves me well enough, but it is obviously not providing me the service that some seem to take for granted of other people's cameras.
