I,ll be in Ubon is July for a month and the ister in law is offering her car for my use, anyone familiar with getting short term insurance and any recomendations?

If your s.i.l. has insurance on the car and you have a valid license you do not need extra insurance.

As Colin mentioned - The Car should already be insured... However, its best to double check that the insurance cover on the car is sufficient.

i.e. That it has 1st Class Insurance (Fully Comprehensive as we know it in the UK), otherwise it my only have the Compulsory Por-Ror-Bor insurance (usually about THB 6-700 baht) but doesn't cover very much.

It may be possible to take out insurance pay monthly and cancel after a month - of course, this purely depends on the terms and conditions.

Unfortunately I know of no such insurance that offers just a month's cover.

Approach some brokers for info : there is an insurance broker on this website.
