Entering on visa exempt after non-b expiration

Featured Replies

Good afternoon everyone.

Quick query that I'd be grateful for advice.

As I put in a previous post, I will be working right to the end of my non-b and wp expiration dates so will not be cancelling either.. Just flying out to a neighbouring country on the date of non-b expiration.

I'm then looking at travelling around Thailand, before flying back to my home country.

I am planning to travel around Thailand for less than 30 days so I'm looking at returning on a visa exempt with a throw away onward journey ticket (don't want to book my flight home until I'm ready to go).

Do you think I might have any problems with immigration re-entering Thailand on a visa exempt as I will have previously left Thailand on the expiration date of my non-b?

I have not had a tourist visa for about 6 years and haven't entered on a visa exempt in about 5 years.

Thanks

Edit: added a tidy bit more detail for clarification.

You will have no problem getting a visa exempt entry. Only previous visa exempt entries are counted not visas or extensions.

That's great UbonJoe thanks.

Sorry mate, one more question if you don't mind. On the immigration/embassy websites it states that need to be able to show 10,000baht for single traveller or 20,000 for family. However on this forum a few people who seemed to be solo travelers were talking about 20,000.

I will be entering as a single traveller, will 10,000 be the amount for me to have on me, as 20,000 would be a pain to carry on me.

Cheers

The chances of you being asked to show financial proof are almost zero. Ten thousand baht would be enough if asked.

Ok that's excellent UbonJoe.

Thank you very much again for your help.

Cheers.
