I just bought a new mattress as the old one was looking pretty tired after 5 years, but I also noticed that the slats in the bed base are also starting to sag. I rotated the base 180 degrees to try and give some even wear but think that it's time the slats were replaced. Don't want to buy a whole new bed base as the headboard and footboard are incorporated. Anyone see spare slats for sale anywhere?

Just go to any builders merchant big or small and you'll find the timber there you need for your new slats and you can get it cut to the size you may need too.

No. Slats for bed bases are usually made from birch or other suitable wood, they are also quite thin and curved to allow for springiness and support.

Yes, except my base isn't able to tilt like the Ikea one. I was hoping somewhere in Pattaya might have the same thing rather than having to drive to Ikea.
