zlodnick
Im wondering if bloodwork test results vary from one lab to the next? Last year my PSA was 3.5 and this year its 3.09. The tests were done at different hospitals. Also, I noticed the normal ranges for some tests were different. Makes understanding the results a bit confusing. Morakot
Results should not differ signficanly. Counter question: Are you health? Why are you screening for prostate cancer? PSA tests are not recommend for healthy men. It does not save lives over all and often leads to more tests and treatments that needlessly cause pain, impotence and incontinence. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/07/health/07prostate.html?_r=0 Edited March 22, 2016 by Morakot
sunnyjim5
It usual for different labs to use different reference ranges but all results from certified labs, will be very similar You result is normal. http://www.prostatecareqld.com.au/PSA.html#
Sheryl
All test results will vary slightly when done at different times, even by the same lab. These values are not static. There is no significance in the small difference between these 2 results.
