If this case smells like bull shit and looks like bull shit it is probably a lot of bull shit on his part. A scared of the money killer to do anything. Normal in Thailand. Pay off the families and walk. You can kill if you have enough money but these rich bitches do not ever care about there actions. The hole justice department need updated. If you get paid to forgive deaths you are as guilty as the killer!

A statute of limitations only applies if there were no charges brought against the accused within a specified time frame, which is not the case here.

No justice for the poor because they sale there dead family members away!

""He's been told to look into the case""

But what does that actually mean ?? ""Look into the case""

""Look into the case"" means recognizing that it is a suicide.

Instead of taking some small bribes along the way, if Thailand would just prosecute and make him pay for the crime, Thailand would gain some much needed respect that would make foreigners more apt to vacation here and spend hard earned money. The rewards would by far out weight the amount of bribes taken. People in the world, not just the West, want to see justice.

This Red Bull Ferrari cop killing hit and run as well as obstruction of justice by the local police commander attempting to get the staff to take the fall and obstructing justice. This case is the epitome of Thai cronyism, selectivity and elite privilege with impunity.

Totally wrong.

It's Thainess and you farung you no unnerstan

Remember other cases, the former politician and senior police officer involved in the mysterious minor crash that killed the millionaire guy, the alleged fraudulent transfer of millions of baht in shares to two pretties? Seems to have faded away despite the victims wealthy family vowing to fight for justice and top policemen pledging to investigate and make sure justice is done,

Or the actor caught shooting his "friend" in the face on cctv?

The girl who killed nine is in trouble with the Probation Service - what's the betting that fades away too?

Or the MBK boss who crashed his Merc?

The c-list actress who hit a parked police car and killed the cop inside - nothing happened to her, laughable few days as a nun and then claimed his ghost "had forgiven her". Whisked away by family after the crash so again no booze or drugs test. Apparent witness also mysteriously went silent.

Until laws are reformed, the judiciary impartially uphold the law, the police impartially enforce the law, and the OAG act professionally in accordance with the law, nothing will change.

Not one singe politician or political party has shown the slightest interest in bringing about any changes - they are in the minority that benefit from this state of affairs so have no motivation to change.

Once someone rich, influential, connected, right family member, is involved the scenario is: media report lots of police promises and vows that justice will be done; then slow progress reported with lots of red herrings popping up and "new avenues of inquiry". Then simply all allowed to fade away and disappear until it can quietly be dropped. Of course detailed negotiations carried out in the background progress very quickly.

Nail. Head.

All these incidents have spanned a cross a Democrat government, Plue Thai government and now a military government. Nothing ever really changes. The elite screw each other over for power but the status quo remains. If you have the right connections you are untouchable.

If Somchai the taxi driver had ran over a policeman or rammed a van full of people off a tollway then he'd be rotting in a hole right now. Somchai doesn't have a pot to urinate in though unfortunately for him and his social class.

Funny stuff. Nothing will ever happen to this punk.

He killed a member of the largest mafia in Thailand,

the Thai police. And basically got away with it.

This latest " we will look into it " must be some kind

of face saving, a sort of knee jerk reaction

to the latest Mercedes killer. Guess the government

has to show that the elites simply cannot go around

and kill the peasants with their expensive cars.

It makes Thailand look bad.......

I still wonder why such phrases are allowed here. It's not against you EyesWideOpen. But as we know, It's he Royal Thai Police. So, isn't there the risk to get charged for defamation? I only ask. May be a moderator could explain where are the line between ok and not ok, even it's OT.

Same same..........................

"A large hole has appeared in Sukhumvit road and police are looking into it".

That's about as far as it goes I'm afraid.

Is he still there? Maybe it's just rumors but I've heard he's been seen driving around Ekkamai in a new Ferrari...

In the West, if he got away with criminal repercussions, he certainly wouldn't get away from civil litigation. Is there not a lawyer in Thailand that can rep the family of the cop and sue the hell out of this kids family?

The family most likely signed away that right when they took compensation.

Yep the last Officer in charge had milked it for all it was worth. Now this guys turn to have a bight of the cherry.

BTW, one charge down! How long is the 'statute of limitations' on killing a BiB then fleeing the scene? I'm sure they can get another few high ranking officers retirement benifit topped up during that time. bah.gif

The 'Statute of Limitations' for something like that is in the order of 50 million nowadays.
