Brussels-based exchange, the BEL 20, dropped by 1.6 per cent, while Amsterdam's AEX and the French CAC 40 both fell by 1.4 per cent. Frankfurt’s DAX plunged by 1.75 per cent, the FTSE 100 fell by one per cent in morning trading and futures opened lower on the US stock indexes.
