Have you tried Asia Books? (various outlets) although most children's books are in English.

Also, the International Schools have Book Fairs regularly. Try them.

Just remembered there is a second-hand bookshop with books of many languages on Sukhumvit Road approximately opposite the Emporium (not sure about the extent of the range of childrens' books)

Try DASA books. Second hand with a reasonable sized childrens section. If you look them up on the internet you can get a list of all the stock. By the way, it is to the left of Empo :o .

I really don't know about German book shops, but for English children's books, my kid love's Asia Books, as already mentioned, but you can also find a lot of children's books at any Central Dept. Store and also at Kinokuniya. Kinokuniya is one of the largest book stores in Bangkok, and there is one at the Emporium.
