somo
We are going for a long weekend and looking for a half decent hotel around 1000 Baht near the town centre where we can easily walk around town. Places to see/drive to during the day would be helpful too. We may stop in Udon Thani on the way so any recomendations for there too? Thanks
Thanyaburi Mac
WHen in Nong Khai I usually stay at the Panthawee Hotel, baht 875. Has PCs and wifi in every room if you don't happen to have your own netbook with you. Last stay there was in January. Mac

bangkokjulia
I have stayed at Nong Khai resort. Individual bungalows around a nice pool. Free breakfast. Very quiet.

Do you really mean free breakfast, or included breakfast. Surely they must have charged you something for staying there......lol HL

tlcwaterfall
Pantawee isa poor excusefor a hotel.. Stayed there 2 years ago. Rooms were very ordinary and old fashioned. When I got back at 11.30pm and asked for my key the staff peppered me with many questions for several minutes before finally handing over the key. Questions such as do you want a girl? Do you want a boy etc. etc etc. They were being quite serious. Frustrating as all I wanted to do was get my key and go to sleep. Only good thing is the location. The Door Slamming Hotel is what I call it, go across Soi to Nana Place owned by one of the sisters to TM, caution security blows whisles at hospital, bloody annoying and if hungry go Fish and Chip shop next to Aussie sports bar for a burger, one of the Best, and don't forget Little Italian Restaurant with ur host Alberto, Great Pizza too
