Undercover Cops Accused of Beating, Pistol-Whipping Students (Video)

I'm truly bewildered why the thai citizenry doesn't use social media to mount a real protest against the police...just a mass demonstration that not only brings to light the abuses of power that are condoned, but also sends a clear message that civil unrest could be a consequence is things aren't cleaned up...the military would certainly side with the public...so many of this country's problems could be solved so easily...fire any police officer deemed to be guilty of any crime...and fill the spots with men/women who wish to transition out of the military...

What you are suggesting is a revolt against the police that would get you arrested and probably jailed if you made these same comments on facebook, or even clicked like to it, and why people are reluctant to put their names forward as fronts for such online grievances against those in authority. Easy talk but I doubt you would volunteer to be their leader into the crusades and there is no way the military would turn against it`s own police force.

Police brutality happens everywhere, American police shooting unarmed people, British police beating the crap out of people in their jails and their mates covering up for them. So in fact you are talking rubbish.

weak.

here is a real beating.

A result, but those students will spend a long time looking over their shoulders, those cops will want revenge.

We will not help them. We will be fair in this case

The knucklehead didn't have the sense to realize he was admitting to being unfair in other cases. Darwinism comes into play...

When these guys have to step down from their positions is the bribe money they paid to get there refunded? laugh.png

Three cops transferred pending a probe into their conduct for allegedly assaulting five students

PHITSANULOK: -- Three police officers attached to Phitsanulok’s Muang district have been temporarily transferred to the 6th regional provincial police bureau pending an investigation into an assault complaint filed against them by a group of Rajabhatpibulsongkram university students.

Pol Maj-Gen Adisak Noyprasert, commander of Phitsanulok provincial police, today (Thursday) called on the university’s rector, Dr Sakorn Soysangvarn, to inform the latter about the probe against the three alleged police officers and to assure him that the case will be treated fairly.

The rector was told that there are two separate cases concerning with the five students – the first case was a conflict over a car accident between the students and the three police officers and the second case regarding the alleged assault against the students by the officers.

Pol Maj-Gen Adisak said that a vice rector would be invited to sit in the panel charged with investigating the assault case.

Dr Sakorn, meanwhile, said he had persuaded the five students not to put pressure on the police and let the police to do their probe first.

A separate police team today inspected the students’ car alleged to be shot by the police group.

transferred ? should be sacked and jailed if guilty

The rector persuaded the students not to put pressure on the police and let them do their job first.

Putting pressure on is far too often the only way to get them to do their job

I expect there is a lot more to tell about what happened ! I would not think the Police would do this unless provoked. Five college boys and three police ? More to the story.

I am surprised they did not do an alcohol breath test on the 3 offending cops. Oh! I forgot, the motor cycle patrol cops let them go away and did not detain them. Hmmm makes sense to me.

the case will be treated fairly

the first case was a conflict over a car accident between the students and the three police officers and the second case regarding the alleged assault against the students by the officers

a fair case where the assault is "alleged", but the car accident isn't.

Inactive posts !!!!! Sack the thugs.

What happened to serve and protect?????

They perpetrators are donut munchers so what do you expect? If this were in 'merica the students would have been shot on some pretext or another.

"three alleged police officers "
very confusing article.....

What happened to serve and protect?????

Sack them yes but also charge them with assault and give them a prison sentence. 5 years should just about do it

serve and protect who? In Thailand the police are not there to serve and protect the public, thats a relatively recent concept that hasnt yet made it to this part of the world

My gf watched the vid, she said for sure, judging by their speech and swagger, the cops were drunk, not the students.

This is all B. S. by the police. These so called police will have no fines or loss of pay for these crimes. This act could happen any time because these police are untouchable. Lucky for the students they had a witness or it would never be heard of and it probably happened before. Do they drug test the police in Thailand?

They forgot...Army personal are the only ones allowed to do that with impunity.

Cheers

Seeing as Thai people are so sensitive about face saving ...I have long believed that Thailand is the perfect environment for public shaming

That punishment or penalty would probably carry far more weight than fines or imprisonment.

Cheers
