Dyed chicks in plastic bags sold as toys on Koh Lanta?

Our grand-daughter was given three brightly dyed chicks last year, of course we were given them to look after.

All turned out to be male (no surprise), two died after a few weeks (also no surprise), the third turned into a huge white/red rooster chap who terrifies the local gai-baan to get his way with all the hens.

We got given 3 as well, once the pink dye was gone. Also turned out to be 3 massive white roosters :) Vicious b$@^ards...

I recently watched a TV video clip which showed the process of dyeing chicks. It was pretty brutal. No wonder two out of three of your chicks died.

In my opinion, falls into the same animal-abuse territory as the tiger temples and elephant camps.

Don't patronize these vendors.
