BANGKOK, 27 March 2016 (NNT) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has thanked a number of organizations for introducing the “Rak Nam” project under the “Pracharat” or “State of the People” approach.

In a televised address, Gen Prayut said successful collaborative efforts have been made under the “Pracharat” concept, especially the introduction of a project called “Rak Nam” which aims to raise public awareness of water conservation. He said the project reflected the private sector’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, by giving support to the government and the people in the form of development programs.

He also thanked the responsible organizations including Utokapat Foundation, the Forest and Sea for Life Foundation, the Hydro and Agro Informatics Institute, the Population and Community Development Association, the Department of Local Administration, and Coca-Cola Thailand.

In addition, the prime minister pointed out that Thailand should be able to get through the ongoing drought crisis as well as avoid future water scarcity as long as everyone in the country cooperates. Not only does the “Rak Nam” project help conserve water resources, it also helps strengthen agricultural communities and improve the living standards of the people.

It's interesting to see how "raising public awareness" seems mostly aimed at the English speaking part of the Thai public...

He gave the speech in English???

Not likely.
