ETDA unveils state supported e-Authentication system

BANGKOK, 30 March 2016 (NNT) – The government is seeking to implement a digital identification system to bolster confidence in electronic financial activities as part of its digital economy push.

The Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) has organized “e-Authentication Day: Decoding a Digital Economy with Electronic Authentication”. The event has invited public and private organizations to learn more about e-Authentication and its ability to secure their online financial activities.

ETDA has prepared to launch its own e-Authentication system for organizations in the third quarter of this year, piloting in the export sector and for activities such as licensing. The system is expected to be in wide use by the year 2017.

Assistant to the Minister of Information and Communication Technology Pansak Siriruchatapong said that the government has clear policies to increase Thailand’s digital economic capabilities and has given importance to digital security and confidence.

hope its not the same company developing this system as the one who developed the immigration "farang tracker" system

Edited by Bobotie

I think they misinterpreted between "digital economy" and "digital surveillance" ...

I fear they misunderstand what the term digital economy actually means!

hope its not the same company developing this system as the one who developed the immigration "farang tracker" system

... or the new online 90-day-reporting system either. wink.png
