Mrs. Stick

Featured Replies

I was very surprised to read this statement in the latest Stickman's Weekly. 29/10/06

Mrs. Stick says: I don't like the way farangs worship the truth. Farangs always want to know every last detail of what has happened, when it happened, why it happened etc. I can't understand this. The way that some people always insist on knowing the truth can be damaging, and can hurt people's feelings, both when people keep asking question after question, and then when they eventually find something out, and then use it against that person.

Well ... not so much surprised at her comments, but admitting it. :o

Naka.

Oh heck, this is going to get controversial for sure.

This is a clear banging of two cultures if I ever saw one where Thailand and its focus on not losing face with a few lies comes up against the western value of truth being the measure of a person.

What surprises me the most is that it could be construed (rightly or wrongly) as Stickman using the truth against his own missus in some mean spirited way.

I was surprised Stick allowed himself to put this up on his own website to be honest...
