I have relatives staying who would like to drive to Kanchanaburi from Pattaya for a few days, anybody done this lately? can anyone give good directions, the last time I drove there took six hours due to state of roads, my sense of direction etc!

I used to do Pattaya-Nakon Pathom fairly regularly but without the girlfriend with me I wouldn't get there any quicker than six hours either.So many places traffic can backup shes always on the phone to her Dad to reroute us round the problems.Best of luck.
