He gets you up from your seat just like that, it's magic. Showbiz is a fickle business. One day you're in, the next day you're out. And when this guy who has been in the business for almost 5 decades, U know what a powerhouse he is. It's sad when one doesn't even know who Tom Jones is. I was very surprised to see him coming here to a large venue.; I think most Thais do not even know of him. I suspect not: Tom Jones cancels entire Asia Tour He's been here before, as I recall previous shows were a sell out. Some time ago (maybe ten years or so) I used to go to a music bar in Patpong (Radio City? Can't remember) quite often, where they had a Tom Jones impersonator and an Elvis impersonator, both Thai and both really quite good. And a good band. The place was always heaving with young(ish) Thais, so I think Tom Jones is actually very well known and liked in Thailand. Edit to say that I just caught the last couple of posts about his wife's death. Very sorry to hear it. As I understand it, they were married for a long time.
