Bangchak to peg oil prices during Songkran

BANGKOK, 5 April 2016 (NNT) – Bangchak Petroleum has confirmed that no oil price hikes will be imposed during the upcoming Songkran holidays in order to help ease people’s burden from traveling expenses.

Bangchak President Chaiwat Kovavisarach declared the company’s plan to put a lid on domestic retail oil prices this Songkran Festival, between April 12 and 18. Should there be any downward adjustment in the global market, he said domestic rates will be reduced accordingly. Otherwise, he promised Bangchak will keep the rates unchanged throughout the festive period.

The price retention measure is intended as a New Year’s present for Songkran revelers, who will be traveling on the roads throughout the country. Moreover, Mr Chaiwat gave assurances that the amount of oil available at Bangchak stations will be adequate for holidaymakers’ demand as oil trucks will deliver supplies more frequently.

According to the President, traditional Songkran activities will be held at all Bangchak stations while a variety of extra services and special promotions will be offered to customers. Motorists will also be able to avail themselves of the free car checkup, provided by the company in cooperation with the Department of Land Transport at selected stations.

.." no oil price hikes will be imposed..."

Price hikes are increases, they didn't mention reductions in price.

Traditional Songkran activities will be held at all stations so while you're topping up you get a free soaking and the vehicle gets plastered with the water and talcum powder mixture ?

Didn't they already raise the prices in February? blink.png

They have raised and lowered prices numerous times....quite a few times each month although it don't always make wide spread news. Not uncommon for prices on some fuels (sometimes all) to change weekly (or even more often).
