You can get a 60 day extension for 1,900 baht based on visiting your wife and then apply for the 1 year extension towards the end of the 60 days (once the 400K has been in the account for 2 months).

You apply for it at the same immigration office where you applied for the one year extension.

Any idea of the form number

BTW had a visa service company offering to do this for 8000 baht made it sound like it was a brown envelope job to get it

Yes, at your local office and you're wife will need to go with you plus:-

  • Form TM7 (the standard extension of stay application).
  • 1 x photo.
  • Original marriage certificate and signed copy.
  • Signed copies of you passport pages: ID, Entry Stamp, Visa, Departure Card.
  • Signed copies of your wife's ID and Tabien Baan.
  • Maybe they will want form TM30. This is the form used by the Owner/House-master to report that you are staying with them.
  • 1,900 baht.
