BERLIN: -- Eight people have been arrested in Berlin as part of an investigation into a suspected network of criminal families.

Police carried out 16 dawn raids across the German capital in connection with a series of crimes including robbery and incitement to kill.

220 police officers were involved, including 60 members of a special task force known as the SEK.

Officials say the suspects are from large families of ethnic Arab origin.

I lived in Germany for a lot of years and it was known the Turks in Germany were in organized crime but it was very low key, unlike the Italian Mafia in New York. But, just like in New York, the Turkish Mafia in Germany has been tolerated by authorities for a very long time. Now this live and let live ... leave the migrants alone mindset is coming back to bite Germany in the a**. They went after the Neo-Nazis with more fervor than the Turkish gangs. Hell, they went after driving law violators with more conviction.

The report speaks of the ‘amazing’ sight of luxury sedans cruising up to refugee, asylum centre, and migrant lodgings filled with “people who have lost everything.”

Being Arab has nothing to do with which Tectonic plate Turkey lies on. The Turks are predominantly ethnic Turk, as are the Turkomen and arguably the Uighurs of China. The Kurds are Kurdish. Most Iranians are Persian and the Arabs are Arab.

Please stay on topic.
