April 14, 201610 yr I need to go there on short notice. What are my options from Bangkok? I know there is a van from Victory Monument but I hate vans and would like to avoid if I can. Does the train go into the city? Is there an 2nd class with ac? Does it depart from Hualumphung or another location? Anybody know the schedule? Do buses go from Ekkamai or Mor Chit or (please no) the Southern Bus Terminal? Edited April 14, 201610 yr by dddave
April 14, 201610 yr its only 2-3 hours, drvie all bus's to Hua hin, Phuket, will pass thru PKK Busses to Phuket yes, busses to Hua Hin not so much. Sophon
April 14, 201610 yr The train tracks are near the centre of town in PKK, fortunately for you, since you have all but ruled out all of the other options. Board at Hualumphong, Samsen or Bang Seu. PKK is beyond Hua Hin, so don't take a bus there; you would just have to change to another bus to complete the trip.. Edited April 14, 201610 yr by allane
April 14, 201610 yr When I last took the train to Prachuap it departed around 08:00 from Hualapong. Arrives in Prachuap about 12:30. The small station is in the centre of town. 5 or 10 minute walk to one of the beach front hotels if you are travelling light. Always took the bus back to Bangkok as the return train times were not convenient.
April 14, 201610 yr Author Thanks to all who posted. I had to cancel as it became apparent that getting back before Monday would be a big problem as everything is solidly booked.
