Hi,

My visa expires tomorrow April 15, I went today to extend my stay for 30 days but, unfortunately, the immigration office is closed until

Monday, April 17. This is due to the local holiday, I just didn't know that.

What happens now on Monday when I go to extend the visa: a 500 per every day overstay fine?

Will this overstay somehow affect my future entries/visa for Thailand?

Thank you very much.

Because the immigration offices are closed you will not be charged for overstay. If you go after Monday you will be on overstay.

And even turning yourself in with a 2 day overstay will not affect future travel.

Monday 18th will be very busy,

Set the alarm.

For next time: you can do the extension before the current permission ends without loosing any days.

Applying one week before will usually be accepted.

As long as you go to immigration on Monday the overstay should be waived, and it will have no affect on future visas, entries or extensions of stay.

immigration is going to be packed on Monday, you might want to look at doing a visa run on Sat or Sun to the nearest boarder if not too far. Might take just as long as sitting at immigration all day.

Good Luck!!

You will be extending your permit to stay not your visa.

You will submit one TM7 form with a 4 X 6 cm photo attached. Download and print 2 sided. http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/tm7.pdf

One copy of your passport photo page, visa, entry/permit to stay stamp and TM6 departure card.

Isn't jomtiem requiring 'proof of address'? At least last week they were.

A 2 X 2 inch passport photo would be accepted but a 3.5 X 4.5 cm one is a bit to small. There is a shop by immigration that will do copies and photos.
