BANGKOK, 15 April 2016 (NNT) – The Deputy Police Chief has observed the operation of the police home security campaign in Bangkok. He assured that the police will perform their duties with the utmost diligence for the sake of public safety.

Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police Pol Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen observed home security inspections by Bang Khen Police Station for the Songkran holidays.

He disclosed that this year has seen the highest number of homes registered for the police protection campaign in 15 years. At 5,502 homes registered, this year marks an increase of 868 homes over the same period last year.

The police home security campaign this year incorporates the smartphone application LINE to establish communication between police officers and homeowners. The Deputy Police Chief has assured that all police officers are working hard to ensure the security of registered homes until their owners' return, with an appropriate number of officials attending to all houses enrolled in the campaign.
