KRABI — A combined task force of security officers and Muslim clerics yesterday raided the home of a 62-year-old man in Krabi who decreed himself the new prophet of Islam.

Meed Mamart was given a stern lecture Saturday to stop his blasphemous actions, and his heretical writings were burned for good measure, the clerics said, though the self-styled prophet appeared to be unrepentant.

Wow I thought Thailand had freedom of religion, his "rights" were clearly violated if the local mussie council can can use soldier thugs to burn his possesions .... things are worse than I imagined. I wonder if his ideas are any more progressive than the previous prophet?

Just hand him over to the IS, the Caliph doesn't approve of false prophets!

A surprisingly measured response by the authorities for someone who seems to be seeking martyrdom. Next best thing to ignoring him.
