April 18, 201610 yr Every year police warn drivers about drink driving, yet every year it gets worse. 6000 vehicles good heavens.
April 18, 201610 yr And you still have 397 dead.Of course they do. They didn't impound many cars and the cars are more likely to kill a motorcyclist compared to an accident between 2 motorcycles. These numbers won't ever go down until they start focusing on the real cause and start taking some real actions against car drivers. What a joke! 4500 motorcycles impounded compared to 600 cars. If only the towing companies realized just how much they could collect as an impound fee. They would have themselves a whole new fleet or trucks paid for in just one year on songkran
April 18, 201610 yr Figures show around 4- 5ths of impounded vehicles were motorcycles...yes indeed because Hi-So's do not ride M/cs...wonder of the total number of 4-wheelers impounded..how many were SUVs on BKK plates..??
April 18, 201610 yr And you still have 397 dead. No, more than 400 since today.... 6,000 hand picked unlucky guys' car impounded would be the more suitable title for this overshadowing lip service wrecking BS campaign from the ruling elite that must not be named.
April 18, 201610 yr Drop in the ocean!.. Exactly. Probably 1,000,000 vehicles on the roads during Songkran.
April 19, 201610 yr The BIB could nick 600 car drivers on any Saturday night in Pattaya - if they could stay awake during the hours of darkness. I'd guess half the above cars would be driven by police themselves.
April 19, 201610 yr Are they keeping the cars and scooters for 30 days and making them work in the morgue? Or is this just another if i miss work because i do not have my car or scooter i can not go to work and can not pay my bills. But if you killed your self or some one else you would never work again. Keep there cars and scooters and fine them to the max so they will think twice before they ever brake the law again!

They would have themselves a whole new fleet or trucks paid for in just one year on songkran That works out to 75% of impounded vehicles being motorcycles; pretty much in line with the WHO stats that say 73% of road deaths are motorcycle users. Other reports from this Songkran stated that motorcycles accounted for 2,510 of the 3,104 accidents (80.88%), followed by pickup trucks being involved in 312 (10.08%), and other vehicles accounting for the remaining 282 accidents.
