Haven't seen any post about this border crossing lately. Is it still possible to do a border run without a Myanmar visa?

You can do a crossing without a Myanmar visa. But to do the crossing you must have a valid visa to use for re-entry to Thailand. No crossing for a new visa exempt entry is allowed.

Did they change that policy? Last year I did a visa exempt entry there. Just double checking.

They have not allowed visa exempt entries since October of last year.

I'm assuming you mean, for visa runners? But if you enter Myanmar with a visa (although I have heard that the Myanmar side supposedly grants a 1-week visa to visit Dawei) and then return a few days (or weeks) later, a visa exempt entry into Thailand would be allowed?

I think the topic is about those that just want to do a border hop for a new entry.

If a person had a visa for Myanmar the would be allowed to cross. As far as I know the only thing that can be obtained is a standard border pass for Myanmar.

The only crossing to Myanmar that allows a border hop for a visa exempt entry is Ranong now.
