Govt, Police Deny Top Bangkok Cop’s Job Jeopardized by Factional Strife

Bangkok police chief Sanit Mahathavorn oversees a police operation to catch potential visa overstayers in Bangkok on March 19.

BANGKOK — Top police and government figures have denied reports a high-level fissure is about to cost the commander of Bangkok police his job.

Deputy junta chairman Prawit Wongsuwan and national police chief Chakthip Chaijinda dismissed stories they were plotting to sack interim Bangkok police chief Sanit Mahathavorn as works of fiction.

There is no such thing as somebody trying to plot anything in Thailand.

Here we are only happy happy happy.......

Factional infighting between the police does not worry me. Factional infighting within the armed forces, now THAT worries me a great deal.

Maybe I should hand myself in for some sort of AA because when someone in an official position denies something I'm almost duty bound to believe the exact opposite.

I believe them.

But, what if a nephew pops up?

Last November, Sanit Mahathavorn was given three months to solve Bangkok’s traffic gridlock - "otherwise he could face the music," police chief Chakthip Chaijinda said.

Pol Gen Chakthip said he had instructed Pol Lt Gen Sanit to reduce congestion by 40-50% by February because of the many complaints from the public.

”I am not a power-monger who transfers his men without proper justification. If he is good, he will get my backing”

The police chief said the acting Metropolitan Police chief could face repercussions if he cannot accomplish his assignment. Maybe this failure is why you would replace him??

Factional strife between the top uniform organisations. That's music to my ear. Let them rumble. None deserving to lead.

I wonder if he has had time to achieve an ROI on that position yet?
