Did you achieve your goals for this year?

Did you make the move from where you live to LOS?

Was it a bad year?

Was it a good year?

Well this year we built our local school a new kitchen for the 200 kids. The wife became pregnant and we acquired 13 Rai of rice land. Had a couple of weeks touring Chang Mai Chang Rai etc, just had a week in Bkk and done a couple of breaks to Pattaya.

So not a bad year for us

I gave up on having goals when I left the western blue chip corporate world 2 years ago for one of academic and intellectual fulfillment instead where my goals are more about enjoying life, eating and seeing if I can get to bed safely each evening :o

Yes…many for me……always aimed low and you won’t be disappointed! :D

Did you make the move from where you live to LOS?

No….still sitting on house “for sale” sign….hmm been 2 mos already :D

Was it a bad year?

No….where I live there were 22 straight sunshine days this summer! :o

Was it a good year?

Will see where the stock market is heading from here till the end of the year, as I have too many options to unlock on Dec 7 :D

Pretty much the same for me.

After flogging my guts out for over twenty five years in the UK I wanted a couple of years off. I set out to do as little as possible myself in favour of watching others scurry about.

It's going well so far. :o

That's what I'd like to think, but in reality I have been quite busy.

Having more construction work done (still doing it) sorting out land deeds, having a one armed wife for six months (broken) acting as the hospital taxi for the village, weddings, funerals, monkings (my term for the young lads doing the short stint at the Wat) putting the world to rights with the guys at Dangs, giving driving lessons to brorher-in-law and acting as the family chauffeur until he was comfortable and then the Oct 1st debacle..... it's been a little hectic.... but at least I have the time now.

Since I am now one year older, that's my MAJOR accomplishment for the year. My wife got her driver's license so I no longer have to take her to the market. My net worth has increased since last year so I haven't been living beyond my means. Only one more goal for the year. Monday I have to go to get my annual retirement visa. I don't expect to have any problems but TIT, so one never knows.

Did you achieve your goals for this year?

Hadnt really set any, finish house off and get a motorbike, done both of those so I guess yeah

Did you make the move from where you live to LOS?

No…, didnt discover the LOS til June, then again in Sept and fallen hopelessly in love with the place.. but I'm coming one day

Was it a bad year?

No….discovered the LOS and its people and got a new aim in life

Was it a good year?

Had a cracking 7 weeks in Thailand that really changed my outlook on things

Thanks for asking. It may sound like a small thing, but, too many times in some forums people are only interested in themselves. I stumbled in here looking for maps and glad I did.

How the year went, good mostly. I sold my house in the states after 1 or more years finally. In the interim went back to one of my olde overseas jobs to make some $$. Well, the dollars were good to me this year with the house selling, the stock market going up, and me working steady, I'm firing on all 3 cylinders you might say.

On the flip side I found I have diabetes type II so no more alcohol or smokes, among other things. I'm wired funny so giving that stuff up no real problem, but, dang, sometimes... Forget about going out partying. It doesn't make any sense to expose myself to the tempation, plus I'll be sober and not on the same wavelength as everyone else so why bother? Going to get my kidney function checked this week so I'll see how it held up this year. That makes a big difference in what kind of plans I'll be making.

I'd given up on SEA years ago, sick of it. But, you know how it is, started reading Stickman submissions and one thing leads to another, now I'm intrigued again. Depending on my timing, since I'm trying to get fired :D If I can get out of this job in the winter I'll give Thailand a real go. Otherwise I plan on doing eastern Europe, Hungary, Bulgaria etc in the spring summer and see if I can make a go of it there.

I'm interested in farming mainly. Just enough to keep a little money coming in and keep active.

Heres' to everyone else. We're vertical right? Then it's good. Take care of your freakin health :D if not for yourself then do it for the :o .

seriously, watch it.

Goals? Maybe. At least I had a job for a year and managed to save a bit of money too.

Moved to LOS? I'll be back in Buriram on November 21st and I cannot wait for that. Chances are good that I'll stay for at least a couple of months. No worries - I have a brand spanking new non-Imm "O" in my passport.

Bad Year? It ended very bad. I'm being replaced by a local (Saudi) and given the boot with no option for another position. And no outlook so far. Do you have a job for me? See my CV on my BLOG?. I can do anything.

Good Year? All-in-all, not too bad. I'm still sitting up and taking nourishment. My wife still loves me for who I am and my house still stands where I left it.

My goals for 2006 are all accomplished. I got my brand new visa today so that's it for another year.

i achieved my target. finished the construction of my home, spending each and every day time at the construction site and then moved in without having killed somebody.
