Watana may be detained up to seven days

BANGKOK: -- Former Pheu Thai MP Watana Muangsook is expected to be held in military custody not more than seven days depending on how cooperative he is with the military.

An informed military source said that Watana is being held in the agriculture centre at the Surasee army camp in Kanchanaburi province. The detention cell is equipped with an airconditioner and Mr Watana rarely ventures out of the cell.

The source said that army officers at the camp tried to convince the former Pheu Thai MP to cooperate with the military failing that he might be charged in the military court.

Meanwhile, spokesman of the National Council for Peace and Order Colonel Winthai Suvaree clarified that the military had to “invite” Mr Watana for talks because the latter had the tendency to break his pledge with the military.

He insisted that the military had done everything within the framework of the law in its treatment of Mr Watana whom, he charged, has defied the NCPO all along.

I would love to comment on this thread, but I think it would be wiser to just "read in silence"

Charged with what I wonder. Is disagreeing and/or "failing to cooperate" with the government a crime now?

As this is a Democratic Blog section, this is your right and I respect your wishes. ............................cheesy.gif

All this blustering and bully boy antics from a paranoid administration points to an insecurity within the mindset of it's leaders , one wonders just what the Thai military is frightened of, perhaps being rejected by the people for the second time would put egg on all the faces of the Hi So military elite, the loss of face , plus possible being sent to the sin bin for an extended period of time would be to much to complicate................................................coffee1.gif

I think I'm right in saying that a couple of days ago it was announced he could face up to two years in prison for failing to comply with the agreement he signed when last released from AA.

An agreement signed when released from a period of unlawful detention !

I thought Thailand's star snooker player had been banged up for a minute. [emoji39]

When the next coup happens, all these current "laws" will be overturned and made illegal by the Supreme Court and the military will be held to account. They won't like that one little bit, they know it and it's starting to show.
