How are western people getting visas, making money, living in Thailand these days?

We all know the common "English teacher" but I want to hear what others are doing?

Working for multi national companies,working in Oil and gas,renewables usual thing.

Manufacturing,hospitality sector,catering,selling property,working remotely,boiler rooms,tele sales.

Although there are no exact numbers, be assured that the majority of westerners here does not work.

Only exception might be Bangkok with a different ratio.

Thailand isn't really interested in promoting visas for foreigners to live/work in Thailand. They want short term tourists, people that are financially independent or foreigners employed by a Thai company.

Should ask in jobs/business section. But visas... elviajero summed it up. Majority are retired or married to thai spouse...a few are working with work permits and the rest are tourist visa or visa exempt.

Digital nomads usually opt for single/multiple entry tourist visas unless they qualify for a non-imm or elite visa.
