PRICE OF ELECTRICITY

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Does anyone know the price per unit of electricity (kWh) in Nontaburi. It's not on the bill...

I've even asked at the head office but they didn't understand me.

Thanks in advance,

djbarry

Do you get your bill directly from MEA or PEA where is should be around 4.2 Baht per unit, or from a condo / moo baan who re-sell the power at a price they determine?

I get it from the MEA...

Pitty they don't put the price on it.

Just take the total bill charge and divide it by the number of units (kwh). That will get you the price per unit all inclusive including FT/VAT/Service fee. Or take the base charge without the FT/VAT, should be the first line of listed costs, and divide by total units. That will be the base cost per unit.

This is an older topic asking how to read the MEA bill but not sure if the current format is the same now. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/732461-how-to-read-an-mea-electricity-bill/

//edit - the base cost is not fixed as it is on a sliding scale and will vary based on usage.

Prices from MEA and PEA are identical nationwide (monopoly).

It's not a simple x Baht per kWh price but a scaled price.

Avarage price rises with consumption.

As written above a total overall of 4.2 Baht/kWh is typical for small household.

MEA and PEA bills look quite different.

Most important on a PEA bill is in the lower right: due date tongue.png

Unfortunately the English version of the calculator is unusable for quite a while.

Even trying to enter the current -4.8 Satang for Ft does not work (except by copy/paste).

And even then the unit prices per scale are outdated, resulting price too low.

Thai version works:

Select 1.2 tariff which is the usual one for private households.
