TM 30

Featured Replies

I am a little confused about this TM 30 can someone explain what it is for and whether I need one? I live in a house in my wife's name for many years. I am on a multiple entry visa based on marriage. I leave the country every 90 days. I have a yellow book.

Unless you need to do something at an immigration office you likely will never need to do one.

The title of the form says it all "NOTIFICATION FROM FOR HOUSE-MASTER, OWNER OR THE POSSESSOR OF THE RESIDENCE WHERE ALIEN HAS STAYED". Your wife would be one doing the report in your case.

Every time a foreigner stays overnight at an address someone is supposed to report the stay to immigration using the TM30. In your case it would be your wife's responsibility.

Technically she should make a new report every time you re-enter the country.

The only consequence for her not reporting is a maximum 2,000 baht fine, but typically immigration charge 800 baht.

If you have any cause to visit an immigration office in the future, and they realise a report hasn't been made, they might insist on a report and impose a fine.

If you decide to start making reports it's worth asking your office if they want it completed for every entry. They might be satisfied with it being done one time.

The purpose of the report is so that immigration can track the whereabouts of foreigners.

Your yellow book has no relevance to immigration.
