3 month Thai tourist visa, applied for and approved same day?

Featured Replies

I have a flight on the 25th of April (Monday) forgetting the fact that the Thai consulate here in HCMC is closed on Sundays...

I fly at 5.30PM on Monday, so is there is there any possibility of me being able to apply for my 3 month tourist visa and get it approved before I fly?

If not, what alternatives do I have?

Thanks!

  • No. You apply in the morning of day 1 and collect in the afternoon of day 2.
  • It's a 60 day tourist visa not 3 months.
  • You could re-enter Thailand using visa exempt entry (if a qualifying national) and get 30 days. That 30 days can be extended by 30 days for 1,900 baht.
  • If using visa exempt entry the airline might want to see an onward fight (to anywhere) dated within 30 days of arrival.

Good advice. OP also note that when you apply for your setv at hcmc there was a member recently stating that flight IN and OUT was required. This was not the case some time ago and only flight into Thailand was required. Note also that you need provide hard copies of flights.

If you have non refundable flights booked, you could try arriving at the HCMC Thai consulate when they open Monday, explain the situation and throw yourself on their mercy. They are strict on their requirements there, but willing to be helpful if they can. If they help, buy them a nice food item to give them when you pick up your passport and visa.

You would think no.

I was at another location that has no same day visa policy.

It was posted at window as well, "no same day visa will be processed".

Well, a woman requesting for a same day visa, after being told no, it takes 2 days..

She came up with the lame of excuse "she didn't know" - then showed she was flying out in the morning.

They told her okay, come back in a few hours.

Maybe she just got lucky...

In case you don;t have a valid return ticket, and this is valid worldwide, I just heard of this site:

RENT AN ONWARD TICKET FOR $9.99
