Thai Govt respects human rights, MFA tells OHCHR

Guess a few people in Mae Hong Son or Mae Sariang might disagree. Does anyone, anywhere, take seriously what any Thai government "official" says about anything? I can assure you in London chatter Thailand is the laughing stock of the world; except for the serious business of their murdering young back packers. There are limits to the lies you can tell and have people believe you. What was that about some of the people/all of the people???

"the Royal Thai Government attaches great significance to the protection of human rights and that it always adheres to international human rights standards."

Is that right?

Uncle Too has his own vision:

Prayuth: Read Chinese Governance Book Because It Suits Thailand

"To get a glimpse of the future of governance of Thailand under junta-leader-cum-prime-minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, see what Prayuth recommends his cabinet to read."

"At yesterday’s cabinet meeting, Prayuth recommended that ministers, who include many generals, read Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s book “The Governance of China”.

"Prayuth was quoted as saying that the book should be read because it is suited to the governing situation of Thailand as the kingdom is also undergoing reform." blink.png

Human Rights Watch in a 2015 report described China under Xi as follows:

“China remains an authoritarian state, one that systematically curbs fundamental rights, including freedom of expression, association, assembly, and religion,

when their exercise is perceived to threaten one-party rule.” whistling.gif
