April 25, 201610 yr Hello everyone! I have a few questions and I hope somebody can help me or have ideas how to do well. I came 2 ½ years before with a tribble tourist visa to Thailand. After that visa I went to Myanmar (Mae Sai) and got a 30 day visa (border run). After that I made two times a Non-Immigrant Education visa in Lao. At the 8th of May my visa will expire. I would like to stay a little bit longer in Thailand and then I want to go to my home country Germany. Is it possible to go to Mae Sai to make a border run for get a visa for 14 or 30 days? My teacher at school told me that at Mae Sai I can’t make a border run anymore. I hope somebody knows if I can make that border run or have another good idea how to get a new visa for a time about 14- 30 days? I look forward to hear from you! Best greetings from ChiangMaiAndré
April 25, 201610 yr You can get a visa exempt entry (not a visa) at the Chiang Khong crossing to Laos. If from a G7 country you would get a 30 day entry if not it will only be for 15 days. You could then extend that entry for 30 days at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht.
April 25, 201610 yr Author Thank you very much ubonjoe and KhunBENQ for your fast reply! At Mae Sai it isn’t possible anymore? At the immigration in ChiangMai I can extend for 7 days and for a fee of 1900 Bath right?
April 25, 201610 yr No it's not possible to use Mae Sai. Yes you could get an extra 7 days to leave the country for 1,900 baht.

Also, I am now on a visa exempt stamp (only one I've had in years), which I have extended once for 30 days. Is there an issue at the moment with doing back-to-back exemptions? April 27, 201610 yr At Chiang Khong, you just need to stay long enough to get the Lao visa, and get stamped in and out of Laos. Back-to-back visa exempt entries are a little unpredictable, but likely to be OK at Chiang Khong (especially if your last entry was by air).
