BANGKOK:-- A dog called "Lloyd" who lost a leg has become the latest star of the internet for Thai animal lovers.

Tens of thousands have viewed, shared and commented on videos of the cute pooch that are doing the rounds on Facebook, reports Voice TV.

Thousands left messages of support on the page of the animal hospital at Kaset University in Bang Khen who have been caring for the dog known as a chiba-inu breed in Thai that means dog of Chiba prefecture in Japanese.

Lloyd is learning how to walk on three legs and netizens were relieved to hear about the close care he is receiving along with the help of his owner Sikawat.

Apparently the mutt's blood pressure is now normal and he is healing up really well thanks to a whole cabinet of drugs to aid his recovery. And with 20,000 well wishers online what more could the happy hound desire?

smile.png Ah, some good news for a change.

Down on side street off my condo is pack of soi dogs. One missing a front leg, still part of pack, doing just fine. No rehab, no meds, no help from humans. No one poisoned (yet). Maybe I should make a video?

"No rehab, no meds, no help from humans."

So he performed the amputation on his own?

People have not seen legless dogs on their sois before?

Wonder how many times they completely ignored the suffering of those walking right by.

They're low-so dogs so no love. But you're welcome to be good Samaritan and give them some medical aid.

Please report back your status.

3 wais for your kindness.

Well, I have 6 "soi" dogs - although none are missing a leg. One is blind in 1 eye & we have other health issues. Best thing I ever did. Have had dogs all my life but Thai dogs are hard to beat. Wish more people would realize that. Loving, loyal & so easy to take care of. Living the hi so life now!

He's soooo cute!!!!

Get well soon Lloyd.

I have raised money for my friend who was also named "Farang of the year" few years back, who gives aid to soi dogs (which angers some farang business owners who shall remain nameless), the homeless and cleans the beach.

The dog has been there for several years. I imagine got hit by car and lost leg, healed on it's own... just my guess. Have seen local authorities dart and dump soi dogs, and one time used bulldozer on beach to bury mother and her pups. Somehow day or so later momma and one pup dug selves out.

I happen to like soi dogs, loso not withstanding (I am not lover of hiso types, btw). They are survivors, smart, and if you show them some love they give it back. Some of us beach types informally adopt these critters, and are less than happy when they are abused.
