Today Tuesday April 26 the PEA in its I finite wisdom has decided to cut the power on my area ... all day long.

Great timing PEA!

I read that some incident on the beach of Pattaya North might damage the reputation of Pattaya. But this is even better.

Bravo!

Is it "right on time" because you just stocked your fridge with finest quality perishable foods ?

You mean the reputation of Pattaya as "a world class family beach resort" laugh.png

Go in personally and thank them for being so punctual, planned and exactly when you required it....pretty rare in Thailand.

If I am in the same area as the OP the power went off at 08.30 and came back at 18.30 off for 12 hours. The air con was on at the time and now since the power has come back on the air con unit wont fire up. Typical. They cut the power without notice and now probably blown the control card in the unit.

If a simple power cut kills your AC you should consider a new one.

(Unplanned) power outages happen everywhere.

Short dropouts, low voltage periods etc.pp.

Fortunately none of our devices (ACs, fans, water pump, fridges, PCs, TVs) has ever given up in five years.

Although when I am present and notice low voltage then I switch off all devices with motors.

Were we live, a non planned power outage occurs at least once a day. For the pc's I have a UPS same for the fridge, internet modems, tv, but for the AC's unfortunately it's not possible to handle these outages that way.

But fortunately when the power comes back on (varies between 2 seconds and 2 hours) they all (still) start up normally.

More likely (as KhunBenq already said) your aircon is already faulty.

And don't forget to shut the breaker when you leave and power is still down.
