Big Ben to fall silent to undergo much needed repairs



One of London’s most unmistakable sounds, the toll of Big Ben, will shortly be absent from the city’s soundscape.

Cracks have developed in the tower’s masonry and the belfry is suffering from corrosion.

The Parliament has the same problem.

They should set up some speakers and use a recording in the meantime.
