Justice Fund transferred to Rights & Liberties Department

BANGKOK, 28 April 2016 (NNT) - The Ministry of Justice has handed the Justice Fund over to the Rights and Liberties Protection Department in a bid to ensure equal access to legal assistance for the public.

Following the transfer, the Justice Fund will be under the care of provincial governors. People needing help can consult provincial justice offices across the country.

The Justice Fund was set up in 2006 to ensure fair treatment for the underprivileged by enabling impoverished people facing legal charges or victims of abuse to gain access to financial aid.

The Rights and Liberties Protection Department has played an active role in the Justice Fund since its establishment, which led to the Justice Fund Act in 2015. The Justice Fund has so far dealt with 18,530 cases out of over 19,000 cases. More than 500 million baht has been spent on legal services and aid for help seekers.

The poor woman was punched to her knees and then kicked in the face to floor her. What type of creatures are these? Why did locals not at least protect the woman?.

Stardust314, I am not sure what this has to do with the topic or how long you have been in Thailand, but you have answered the question yourself:

"they are total cold blood psychopaths"... not those watching, but the attackers. Sadly, so many thugs carry and are prepared to use concealed guns or knives here that to get involved in something like this can mean a fate worse than those being attacked. There have been many cases where "good Samaritans" have ended up in hospital or even the morgue.

If the police were to start to do their job and actually get out and about in crowd situations, things might change. The police are not there to serve, but to feather their own nests. In reality, I think they are more scared of the thugs than the rest of the population.
