The Farangs that live there, use the Baht Busses. For a trip from South Pattaya (near Walking street) to Jomtien only 10 THB.

1) You are probably a troll

2) If 300 baht per taxi ride made you cut your trip short, then Pattaya is probably the best place for you anyway.

We don't have proper taxi services here in Pattaya. You'll pay double or triple what you'd pay in Bankok. Thanks to the local mafia. Public transport is OK if you live in central Pattaya. Terrible if you live outside.

He's not trolling. He's been a member for over 2 years and this is his 2nd post.

Why the anti-Pattaya sentiment?

It's not all that easy to get "proper taxi services" in Bangkok either.

i guess I was wrong. Just seemed like a troll type post. I'm not anti pattaya at all. I love the place. I just don't think it's right for a person who complains about 300 baht for a taxi.

Edit: I see I made a typo in my other post. Wanted to say not the best place for him.

I've paid between 200 and 400 baht for the ride myself.

The price you paid is the going rate imho.

Lately I've been taking the baht buses, much cheaper.

I just negotiate more now. If they say no I just keep walking. They are hungry for money. More often then not they will accept a reasonable offer.
