Registration of adress

Featured Replies

Sorry but I'm new here. Can someone tell me whether I should register my address, at the immigration office, when I own a condo in my own name?

On what basis are you staying in Thailand (ie. What visa do you have ) ?

You should check with your local immigration office. They might want a TM30 form completed as the owner reporting a foreigner staying at the address, but otherwise you do not need to register.

I'm just on an arrival 30 days visa. But staying in my own Condo with Titel Deed (Chanot) in my own foreign name.

  • You are supposed to submit the TM30 report as the owner of the address.

Whether or not your immigration office will want it can only be answered by them. Some don't.

They might want it submitted every time you re-enter the country.

If you never have cause to deal with the local immigration office the lack of TM30 report should not be an issue.

If you don't make the report, and have dealings with the immigration office in the future, they might fine you for not reporting.

The maximum fine is 2,000, but 800 baht is, reportedly, usually charged. There is no other consequence beyond the fine for failing to report.

i have made 2 time extension of stay successful based on oa non immd visa but i have not asked immi office for this matter. i will go back to my country next year and do i need to report to them by completing tm30 when i reenter thailand. Any suggestion?

Do you own or rent the property you live in?

i am the owner of the condo(owned with my wife).

If your wife is listed on the blue house registration book of the condo as the house master (เจ้าบ้าน) she should ideally submit the form TM.30 to immigration.

Otherwise, you can do the TM.30 in your name. You may also want to consider getting a yellow house registration book for yourself.

Only need to report once by completing tm 30 or my wife need to inform immd periodically.

If your immigration office did not asked for a TM30 when you have renewed your annual extensions of stay I would assume they are not enforcing the law. Unfortunately the enforcement of this law varies from office to office so the only way you can know for sure is to ask your local office.

It should only be required once, and if you leave the country, with a re-entry permit, it is unlikely that they would want a new TM30 completed when you return. Having said that my office have asked for a new TM30 at the last 3 extension renewals!

Either you or your wife can complete the TM30 as owners of the property, but as suggested by Maestro it probably makes more sense for your wife to complete the form.

thanks

The way this TM.30 works, in theory, is that once you report your arrival at your condo the record will show you as staying at your condo until another TM.30 reports you as having arrived at another place. Unless you submit a new TM.30 after returning to your condo or leave the country you will remain on record as staying at the other place.
