Denmark extends controls on German border, EU set to allow more Schengen exceptions

"We have to protect ourselves against the Islamic State group, who are trying to take advantage of the situation where there are holes in borders. But also as protection against the influx of refugees coming through Europe"

COPENHAGEN: -- Denmark has extended temporary controls on its border with Germany, first imposed in January to help regulate an influx of migrants.

The measures have been prolonged by another month until the beginning of June.

The European Commission, struggling to prevent the collapse of the Schengen agreement, has confirmed it will soon authorise more such extensions.

The Danish government says it has joined several countries in writing to the Commission asking for a two-year extension.

“Together with the Germans, the French, the Austrians and the Swedes I have today sent a letter to the EU commission asking for the possibility to extend the border control for the next two years,” said Inger Støjberg, Danish minister of immigration and integration.

“I have done so because we need to look out for Denmark. We have to protect ourselves against the Islamic State group, who are trying to take advantage of the situation where there are holes in borders. But also as protection against the influx of refugees coming through Europe.”

The Commission could give the green light as early as Wednesday to countries within the passport-free Schengen zone wishing to extend exceptional border controls.

The five countries have taken the measures because of the influx of migrants and refugees heading north via the so-called Balkans route after entering Europe via the Greek shores.

Although the crisis has eased, the governments say many migrants are still camped along the route and in Greece.

There will be a time when Merkel finally realizes her quest for sainthood and adoration from the oh-so-fashionable extreme left was not worth the end of classical civilization in Europe. And yes, once it is gone, which it will soon be, there will be no getting it back. My only concern is that the extreme left will act shocked and claim "how were we to know?" and "nobody warned us this would happen" which would be somewhat irritating - to put it mildly.

I expect Merkel and her cronies will simply turn this around. They'll blame everyone else and other countries for not accepting her suggestion of mandated EU quotas which other sovereign EU nations had to take, because Merkel thought it a good idea.

Her real agenda is a Federal EU, with it's individual country roots, heritage and histories destroyed, along with it's traditional religions and values. She wants to create a new EU identity with socialist values, centralized control and massive bureaucracy. The creation of EU police and EU military forces under EU control is another move towards her goal of establishing a federal government. Of course she and her cronies see Germany being the federal government, managing and controlling everything in a planned economy.

In the short term she sells EU out to Turkey as Erdogan completely shafts Europe with the threat of flooding it with illegal migrants. Who elected her the ruler of Europe or put her in the position to negotiate deals for all of Europe. Juncker backs her as she put him in place.

Your post would make a good footnote to this:-
