The case of four suspected drug ringleaders – including a British national, his Khmer girlfriend and two Cambodian-American men – will be re-examined by a Phnom Penh Municipal Court investigative judge, according to the case’s current presiding judge, Ly Sok Leng. Telephone records of the accused Cambodian-American Sophorn Horl, also known for hosting a popular radio show as DJ Soup on TV3, and Em Seng, who was deported from the United States to Cambodia in 2011 for gang related activity, will be investigated.

Mr. Seng is suspected of calling Mr. Horl and asking for help to buy drugs while the DJ was serving a sentence in Prey Sar Prison last year, despite prison officials refuting the claim, saying there is no telephone service in the prison. British national Peter Richard Gold, 70, and his Cambodian girlfriend Sim Lin, 31, were charged alongside Mr. Seng with “drug use and trafficking” under articles 40 and 45 of Cambodian Law on Drug Control.

Mr. Horl was also charged with the same offenses and also with “committing a felony after sentencing for a misdemeanor.” Mr. Seng spent 18 months in prison for illegal weapon use before being released in 2013. Mr. Horl is now in the midst of serving a 12-year prison sentence after being convicted of drug use and trafficking in 2011. He is now detained in Phnom Penh’s JP Prison.

Another missmash of information. Reconcile these two sentences:

"Mr. Seng is suspected of calling Mr. Horl and asking for help to buy drugs while the DJ was serving a sentence in Prey Sar Prison last year, despite prison officials refuting the claim, saying there is no telephone service in the prison."

"But according to prison staff and Sophorn Horl, alias DJ Soup, there was a telephone service in the prison. And their telephone conversations were not examined or submitted to the court as evidence,” he added."
