His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn presided over the ritual on behalf of His Majesty the King at Amarin Winitchai Throne Hall on the auspicious occasion of Coronation Day.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and high-ranking officials also attended the ceremony to pay respect to the statue of the Emerald Buddha and the statues of the late monarchs of Thailand.

The Coronation Day marks the day of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s rise to the throne on 5 May 1950, the date on which he gave his pledge to reign with righteousness for the benefits and happiness of the Thai people.
