Thai-New Zealand ties strengthened through constant collaborative programs

BANGKOK, 5 May 2016 (NNT) – The newly-appointed New Zealand Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Benjamin King, has paid a courtesy call on Deputy PM Wissanu Krea-ngam at Government House.

The New Zealand Ambassador and the Deputy PM have confirmed their readiness to foster relations between the two nations as witnessed by mutual visits by all-levels of officials and numerous collaborative programs. In March, the Thai and New Zealand governments co-organised celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

Deputy PM Wissanu spoked of his wish to see closer bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of trade, investment, tourism and education, adding that there should be more mutual visits between high-ranking officials from both countries.

Both sides also discussed the political issue in Thailand. The New Zealand Ambassador said he understood the political situation in Thailand and hoped that democracy would return to the country as soon as possible. Deputy PM Wissanu affirmed that the government was pushing ahead with its roadmap to democracy.

New Zealnd is just being courteous with its new ambassador for Thailand with regard to trade future with Thailand.

New Zealand has placed its focus on the benefits of signing as a member of TPP though not yet ratified the treaty. Future trade with Thailand will become inconsequential.

Prayut has thus far refused membership in TPP against the recommendations of DPM for Economic Affairs Somkid and the Thai private sector.

Lets get the price of New Zealand beef down to a reasonable level. I am tired of drooling over it in the supermarket only to look at the price and have a heart malfunction.

Sorry, no beef for you. Take your pills and drink your carrot juice.
