BANGKOK, 5 May 2016 (NNT) – The Cabinet has approved a new Sanatorium Act, aiming to enhance services at public healthcare facilities to be on par with private hospitals, according to a spokesman.

Government Spokesman Maj Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd revealed the Cabinet meeting has approved the new Sanatorium Act which covers the improvement of state run healthcare facilities, in order to upgrade their services to be on par with private hospitals.

The new Sanatorium Act also limits advertising of healthcare facilities, and determine types of emergency illness which healthcare facilities cannot decline services. The details on these matters will be specified in subsequent laws.

The current Cabinet has already approved 151 laws since its inauguration in 2014. 56 subordinate laws have been issued, while 27 of which still need to be enacted by their related agencies.

The Cabinet still has to come to a conclusion regarding the 20 laws pending Cabinet’s consideration, including the Special Economic Zone Act, the Tobacco Control Act, the Act of the Measurement in Lieu of Criminal Prosecution, and the Criminal Procedure Code.

A better idea would be to build a Sanatorium and place the whole Cabinet in it with immediate effect !

Isn't that what the Parliament building is used for now?

A huge government sanatorium already exists - it's called Government House.

And when the draft charter is passed, there'll be a Senatorium for 200- junta appointed members. wai2.gif
